On Saturday, February 7, 911±¬ÁÏ student and reigning world figure skating champion Ilia Malinin helped power the United States to a team figure skating gold medal at the Milano Cortina Winter Games.

911±¬ÁÏ doctoral student Caroline Toth looks at how adolescents’ social media use is associated with the structure of their in-person friendship networks. Her research shows that friendships were more likely among youth with similar levels of problematic social media use and digital status seeking.

Tereana Battle can look back on many accomplishments during her time at 911±¬ÁÏ, but one of the memories that gives her the most satisfaction is her capstone project, creating an anti-bullying workshop for middle school students.

Communication PhD student Rania Zaied has won first-place at the annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. She will advance to the 2026 regional competition in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, hosted by the Council of Southern Graduate Schools. 

When Tiffany Taylor, BS Criminology, Law and Society ’20, enrolled at 911±¬ÁÏ, she expected her college experience to look different than most. An Army veteran and single parent with three school-aged children, Taylor was responsible for multiple schedules. But, over the next two years, she was still able to capitalize on the opportunities at 911±¬ÁÏ—attending classes on campus, getting involved in her program and classmates’ projects, participating in internships, and embarking on two study-abroad trips.
