Outside work, Norfleet hones other talents of her own—she is a Toastmasters champion and a spoken word artist who shares her poetry to inspire others.

After attending university-wide Mason Chooses Kindness events at 911����, colleagues in the School of Business saw an opportunity to apply the same principles within their unit. This “goodwill team” highlights and encourages acts of kindness and well-being across the school.

Olga O’Brien started her journey at 911���� as an international student from Prague on a volleyball scholarship. As a student, she started working as a part-time volleyball instructor at the Freedom Center in 1999—the year the center first opened. And she has been there ever since.

Robert Matz, dean of Mason Korea, will conclude his term at the end of the Spring 2024 semester and return to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences as a faculty member of the Department of English.

Liza Wilson Durant wears many hats at 911����. Outside her work at Mason, though, Wilson Durant makes a different impact on her community as an emergency medical technician (EMT).

Mason will launch a pilot project this fall to study utilization of space on its campuses.
