911±¬ÁÏ has been recognized as a Bicycle Friendly University by the League of American Bicyclists for promoting safe, accessible bicycling on campus. The League of American Bicyclists is a grassroots advocacy organization encouraging better bicycling and protecting the rights of people who bike.

Evan Carter, associate director of programs, assessment, and well-being in Mason Recreation, is the November Employee of the Month.

Will Gautney started working at 911±¬ÁÏ’s Center for the Arts as a part-time stagehand in 2013. The job involved lots of lifting, building, and prep work for shows. In 2018, he was hired full-time as assistant master electrician, his current role. He is also chair of Mason's Staff Senate.

Lucal was selected in a national search conducted this summer. She joins Mason from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she serves as the associate vice chancellor of Human Resources and CHRO.

As the weather cools off, fall is the perfect time to explore the outdoors. 911±¬ÁÏ offers students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to get outside and form connections with others in the Mason community through the Outdoor Adventures program, part of Mason Recreation.

The 911±¬ÁÏ community gathered Sept. 28 to celebrate the launch of the university’s largest comprehensive campaign in its history, Mason Now: Power the Possible. The event at Merten Hall was dedicated to the people who work every day to drive Mason’s success: the university’s faculty and staff.
