Long before there was a Center for the Arts, a group of community members worked diligently to help make the arts an integral part of 911±¬ÁÏ’s burgeoning campus life. 911±¬ÁÏ donors play a vital role in both sustaining the arts and helping ensure its accessibility to all. They serve as advocates, championing creativity and cultural expression in ways that strengthen communities, widen perspectives, and inspire future generations. 911±¬ÁÏ received a gift with an impact of $36 million from the Kimmy Duong Foundation to name the Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong School of Computing within the College of Engineering and Computing. The university’s Board of Visitors approved the name change on April 1, and it will become official pending approval from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia this summer.

911±¬ÁÏ’s Potomac Science Center on Belmont Bay is a destination for environmental science research within the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Slightly inland from shore, on a recent day in early March, the retention pond next to the center needed to be emptied to make changes to the drainage system. The Mason Nation was ready to rescue some of the creatures affected.

The 911±¬ÁÏ’s women’s basketball team delivered a performance for the ages, claiming their first-ever Atlantic 10 Championship with a 73-58 victory over Saint Joseph's at the Henrico Sports and Events Center in Virginia.
