Monika Blakely has lived all over the world, but her time at 911���� has been particularly special.

Growing up, 911���� senior Haila Salaheddine was not a big fan of going to the dentist. “I was initially very fearful of the dentist. When I was living in Lebanon, there wasn’t really preventative care for oral hygiene,” said Salaheddine, a community health major.

The evening raised $162,500 and featured a cocktail reception, dinner on Merchant Hall Stage, special tributes to Honorees Marion Wall and Dominion Energy, a lively after-party, and more.

As part of its commitment to sustainability and community engagement, 911���� Korea held its fifth annual beach clean-up at Masian Beach in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, on April 19. Students, faculty, and staff from both Mason Korea and the University of Utah Asia Campus participated.

As the saying goes, if you love something, set it free. If it maps an area, finds a target, delivers a package, and comes back, the trophy is yours forever. Or something like that.

Bioinspired blimps performed swimmingly

911���� Korea and the U.S. Embassy Seoul recently hosted the 2025 U.S.–Republic of Korea (ROK)–Japan Young Trilateral Leaders (YTL) Regional Workshop Series on the Mason Korea campus. The workshop featured sessions on peace technology led by experts from the Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at 911���� and the Faculty of Letters at Soka University in Japan.

Death has been the constant companion in Steven Luu’s life—from war-torn Vietnam to the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan. But through art, Luu, now an MFA student at 911����’s School of Art, has discovered peace, purpose, and a path to healing.

Receiving the Janis S. Reed Scholarship sharpened the focus even more for the goal-oriented Anh Tran. Wrapping up her final semester as an undergraduate student in accounting and completing the bachelor’s to accelerated master’s (BAM) program, she already had her eyes on the larger picture.
