Costello College of Business dean Ajay Vinzé has been named interim provost at 911±¬ÁÏ, President Gregory Washington announced Wednesday.

Tereana Battle can look back on many accomplishments during her time at 911±¬ÁÏ, but one of the memories that gives her the most satisfaction is her capstone project, creating an anti-bullying workshop for middle school students.

Max Dacey enrolled at 911±¬ÁÏ with a singular goal: to earn his degree quickly and better support his family. A former competitive rugby player, he didn’t imagine a traditional college experience. However, a year and a half later, the public relations major from Alexandria, Virginia, is graduating with far more than he expected.

911±¬ÁÏ's Debate Team won the prestigious West Point Sword at the United States Military Academy’s 60th annual National Debate Tournament in West Point, New York. 

This fall, 911±¬ÁÏ’s dance studios buzzed with excitement as School of Dance students prepared for and performed José Limón’s 1958 original composition Missa Brevis, alongside professional dancers from the Center for the Arts artists in residence Limón Dance Company.

Honor College student Cashlyn Bonds said her time at 911±¬ÁÏ has been defined by her passion for justice, human security, and international understanding.  

The athlete and competitor in her fuel 911±¬ÁÏ’s Jaylin Lott’s love for volleyball, but it’s the inner serenity that singing brings her that she treasures away from the court.

This fall, eight Mason LIFE students interned across 16 different congressional offices on Capitol Hill as part of the Gregg and Livingston Harper Congressional Internship Program for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.

Communication PhD student Rania Zaied has won first-place at the annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. She will advance to the 2026 regional competition in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, hosted by the Council of Southern Graduate Schools. 

Sue Slocum, professor in the Tourism and Events Management Program at 911±¬ÁÏ, received a Fulbright Specialist Program award in support of a project on how best to prepare students for jobs in Tajikistan’s tourism economy. She went for a month to advise and collaborate with faculty from the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan.
