Fifty-three weeks after it was moved to Holton Plaza to make way for construction related to the Core Campus Project, the iconic 911���� statue was returned to its home on 911����’s Wilkins Plaza.

911����’s Schar School of Policy and Government will launch its new Race, Politics, and Policy Center in Fall 2021 under the leadership of Professor Michael Fauntroy. Fauntroy, who taught at Mason for 11 years before joining the faculty at Howard University in 2013, returned to Mason in June.

911���� was named the top young university in the United States in the recently released 2021 Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings.

INTO Mason offers both undergraduate and graduate pathway programs for international students who want to study at Mason. A partnership between Mason and INTO University Partnerships, INTO Mason supports a diverse group of students, according to its website, “from application to graduation.”

As companies throughout the country transition from remote work back to the office, employers can help their employees through the process by giving them a voice and options, said 911���� School of Business professor Victoria Grady.

911���� is well represented among the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.

The two-year program allows enlisted servicemembers from every branch of the military to prepare for medical school.

As Mason faculty members reflect on their experiences teaching during a global pandemic, they say they’ve learned some lessons they’ll bring into the return to a more traditional academic year.

Showcasing a collection of more than 100 native and non-native trees and shrubs, the 911���� Arboretum earned Level II accreditation from ArbNet, the only international accreditation program specific to arboreta.

911���� has been named a military friendly institution by Viqtory, Military Friendly for the 10th year, an important distinction for a university committed to veterans and other nontraditional students.

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam last week lifted the mask requirement for people who have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. As a public university, 911���� is complying with the Governor’s order, eliminating face covering and distancing requirements for all fully vaccinated people, effective today, June 2. 

Kaiser Permanente, one of the nation’s leading health care providers and not-for-profit health plans, has committed $175,000 to advance 911����’s community health initiatives.
