Bioengineering senior design team wins national award.

With the start of the fall semester comes the much-anticipated Movers and Shakers Mixer, the annual networking event connecting 911���� students with influential business, community, and government executives at Mason Square in Arlington.

More than 250 people are working on the construction of the Fuse building at Mason Square, including 911���� rising senior Leslie Hernandez. “It’s my way of giving back to my school and community,” said Hernandez, who is majoring in civil and infrastructure engineering in the College of Engineering and Computing.

911����'s College of Visual and Performing Arts celebrates a successful 2024 ARTS by George! raising more than $250,000 to support Mason Arts. The evening featured Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga.

When Student Body President Maria Alejandra Romero Cuesta and Vice President Colin McAulay were looking at universities, 911����’s proximity to Washington, D.C., and Schar School of Policy and Government’s strong reputation made it a top choice for them both.

911���� professor Lisa Gilman lived in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) from the time she was born until she was 9 years old. She is currently working on her research of migrants and displaced people who have been affected by war and trauma with her project, “My Culture, My Survival: Arts Initiatives by Refugees for Refugees.”

911���� bioengineering alumna Alessandra Coogan took advantage of all the opportunities associated with her internship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, this summer.

Information technology consultant Groundswell provides internship experiences that give 911���� students a chance to learn about the company, delve into new areas and discover more about the industry.

Alizé Rubiera is the first ADVANCE Mason Virginia Promise student to enroll at the university. She comes to 911���� from Germanna Community College.

911���� bioengineering student Berk Kasimcan spent his summer internship working on a proof of concept for what could be described as sunglasses for buildings.
