911±¬ÁÏ

As 911±¬ÁÏ welcomes nearly 6,000 residential students to the Fairfax Campus from Wednesday, Aug. 20, to Sunday, Aug. 24, the campus community should expect increased traffic and parking delays.

Heavy traffic is expected on and around 911±¬ÁÏ's Fairfax Campus for regional community college and high school graduation ceremonies at EagleBank Arena from May 12 through June 16, 2025.

911±¬ÁÏ Spring Commencement will take place on Thursday, May 15, at 9:30 a.m. in EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus. Separate Degree Celebrations will honor school and college graduates from Wednesday, May 14, through Saturday, May 17, at the Fairfax Campus. Expect heavy traffic on and around campus. Multiple ceremonies will occur each day at the Fairfax Campus.

911±¬ÁÏ will celebrate Mason Day on Friday, April 25, from 3–10 p.m. on the Fairfax Campus. The event will feature a carnival and performances. Expect increased traffic on and around the Fairfax Campus. The event will take place from 3–10 p.m. in Parking Lots L and A (near EagleBank Arena).

On the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 18, increased traffic is expected on and around the Fairfax Campus, as well as an increase in on-campus parking, due to a concert at EagleBank Arena. The concert starts at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m.

New traffic patterns will go into effect in mid-September at the intersection of Prince William Parkway and University Boulevard near the Science and Technology Campus. To improve traffic operations and safety, left turns will no longer be permitted at this intersection. This will affect the way drivers enter and exit the SciTech Campus from these routes.

As the fall 2024 semester starts, 911±¬ÁÏ students, faculty, and staff are reminded that traffic on and around the Fairfax Campus greatly increases during the first few weeks of the semester. The following campus parking and transportation guide will help minimize potential parking and traffic delays.

Parking and traffic closures will occur on the Fairfax Campus from Wednesday, Aug. 21, to Sunday, Aug. 25, to facilitate the move-in of nearly 6,000 residential students.

A section of Patriot Circle between Campus Drive and Aquia Creek Lane will be closed from Monday, July 22, through Sunday, July 28, so a culvert can be installed to address flooding issues along that part of the road and in Lot I. The sidewalk along this section of Patriot Circle will also be closed.

Heavy traffic is expected on the Fairfax Campus for regional high school graduation ceremonies at EagleBank Arena from May 29 through June 18. EagleBank will host up to three ceremonies on many days, so traffic will be entering and exiting campus from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. Please allow extra travel time on and near campus.
