"The Handbook is critical for protecting human health by determining probable cancer-causing substances. It is an honor to serve on this committee with fellow environmental health scholars and collaborate to improve a document that is so consequential to cancer prevention efforts,鈥 said Perry.

Perry has served on the NASEM Committee on Clinical Follow-Up and Care for Those Impacted by the JP-5 Releases at Red Hill since 2025. As an internationally respected scientist, her research has advanced understanding of the effects of pesticide exposure among agricultural workers, farming communities, and the general population.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Toxicology Program鈥檚 informs the congressional Report on Carcinogens, a science-based public health document that lists substances known to or associated with causing cancer in humans. The Handbook includes tools, approaches, and guidance for the cancer hazard evaluation process and determining what substances are included in the Report on Carcinogens.

Perry will serve on the interdisciplinary committee with research ers from universities across the country and professionals spanning the pharmaceutical, toxicology, biotechnology, and veterinary sciences industries.
