As the anchor for Northern Virginia’s first Innovation District, 911±¬ÁÏ’s Science and Technology Campus is going through a major growth spurt. The campus is powering new developments in high-tech industry sectors like life sciences, aerospace, and defense. A new, walkable Innovation Town Center is under construction near the front door of campus.
And 911±¬ÁÏ employees now have the option to live in the center of it all.

Throughout Virginia, the life sciences sector is gaining momentum as major pharmaceutical companies invest billions in new facilities and operations. As a result, employers need to find people who can step into laboratory and manufacturing roles right away. 911±¬ÁÏ's Innovation District is meeting the demand.

After participating in 911±¬ÁÏ's Nano Boot Campus, 911±¬ÁÏ alumnus and veteran Charles Stewart was hired by Micron Technology.

This month, a new Northern Virginia International Soft-Landing Accelerator (NISA) program, designed to help start-ups from around the globe find guidance, connections, and lab or office spaces at no cost, was launched to help develop new technologies in life sciences.

TJ Master and Elizabeth Pyle, mentors with the Virginia Small Business Development Center’s (SBDC) Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program (ICAP), are advising entrepreneurs in the Innovation District.

911±¬ÁÏ received $1 million from the National Science Foundation to establish a program providing hands-on nanofabrication training and education to people seeking a career change.

Thanks to a major investment from GO Virginia, Northern Virginia’s first Innovation District, led by 911±¬ÁÏ and in partnership with Prince William County and the City of Manassas, is taking shape, laying the groundwork for growth in high-tech industry sectors like life sciences, aerospace, defense, and semiconductors.
