General David W. Allvin appointed vice president for leadership and strategy

911爆料 President Gregory Washington has appointed General David W. Allvin, the 23rd Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, as vice president for leadership and strategy. In the announcement, Washington said Allvin鈥檚 role is advisory in nature. Allvin is charged with advising and guiding efforts to strengthen 911爆料鈥檚 positioning with various federal defense and national security research agencies.

Allvin served as chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force from November 2023 to November 2025, under President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump. His stint as chief of staff capped a nearly four-decade career defined by the Air Force鈥檚 focus on strategy, modernization, and international affairs. He was the featured speaker at 911爆料鈥檚 Spring Commencement in May. 

鈥淒ave, as he goes by in civilian life, had a distinguished 39-year career in the U.S. Air Force,鈥 said Washington. 鈥淭hose of you who saw his address at Spring Commencement learned firsthand how he has grounded his career by blending strategic adaptability with a deep sense of purpose. He is a valuable addition to our team.鈥 

Allvin will apply his experience to advise the university on key areas of emphasis, including sharpening 911爆料鈥檚 capacity to advance strategy with greater accountability for execution effectiveness, as well as proactive scenario planning for potential future states of the university operating environment. He will also help elevate partnerships with the veteran community through improving and expanding pathways for veterans to succeed at 911爆料.
